The Hyde Project that we are currently working on in West Hendon requires many reinforced details to provide sufficient amount of support for all the load applied.
Shear links are provided to carry shear forces induced by applied loads on structural elements. Shear links are the most important element connected with concrete beams. whilst other elements such as slab shear links, column shear links and wall shear links are more uncommon. There are no beams that are able to perform there function without links essentially being involved.
Shear failure in reinforced concrete beams is one of the most undesirable modes of failure due to its rapid progression. This sudden type of failure made it necessary to explore more effective ways to design these beams for shear. Shear links were the answer and have been used throughout decades to produce stronger more shear resistant members.
