This development comprised of 3 blocks of varying heights including 15-storeys,
12-storeys and 4-storeys.
Complex issues arose due to Thames Water’s 1310mm diameter surface water sewer crossing the site.
Early site investigation work including physically surveying the sewer, allowed us to plot the sewer in our 3D structural BIM model in relation to site boundaries.
Subsequent early iterations with the architects meant that we located the towers strategically without impacting the sewer and thereafter got planning permission.
A repetitive grid structure in line with the architectural proposals allowed for an efficient 250 thick reinforced concrete flat slab with no transfer structures.
This gave free flexibility with services integration and this was all modelled and managed via the 3D BIM models.
