Technical skills are vital, but clear communication is what really keeps a project moving.
Yesterday, our team at DCL Consulting Engineers Ltd joined the GeN+1 Masterclass at Arup to master the art of giving feedback confidently.
Rather than a standard lecture, the session used live, interactive scenarios to tackle the real-world communication challenges we face in the data centre sector. It was a brilliant, high-energy way for our engineers to sharpen their skills and connect with other emerging talent across the industry.
Our team are heading back to work today with practical tools to help them communicate more effectively and support each other's growth.

Drainage shouldn't just be a hidden pipe in the ground. This month, our engineering team attended the Building with Nature and SuDS seminar hosted by FORMA. Learning from Cristina Refolo and Taffeta Gray (Refolo Landscape Architects) reinforced a key philosophy: when nature is at the heart of design, technical requirements become vibrant public spaces. By integrating nature-based SuDS strategies, we're helping our clients build projects that are as sustainable as they are functional.
